Laurie Rivera is currently the Clinical Coordinator for the ATEP at Appalachian State University. In addition to her teaching and coordinator duties, she has served as an assistant athletic trainer responsible for Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field as well as field hockey. A 1997 athletic training graduate of Appalachian State, Laurie received a Master’s degree in Physical Education from The Citadel in 2000.  Prior to returning to ASU, Laurie was an assistant athletic trainer and instructor at the University of Central Arkansas from 2000-2004. Her responsibilities included teaching in the ATEP and covering Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Women’s Basketball and supervising Softball. While in Arkansas, she assisted in several capacities with the state’s association, published the state’s newsletter and became the first chair of Arkansas’ Ethnic Diversity Committee.
